Does CBD help anxiety
If you have been considering CBD for anxiety or stress, you likely are wondering how to start taking CBD and whether it will really help. While research about CBD is ongoing, some studies suggest that CBD may help to ease symptoms of anxiety. For example, one 2015 study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) noted, “CBD has shown therapeutic efficacy in a range of animal models of anxiety and stress, reducing both behavioral and physiological (e.g., heart rate) measures of stress and anxiety.”
CBD side effects
CBD is generally regarded as safe with little to no side effects. The same study by NIDA notes: “A review of 25 studies on the safety and efficacy of CBD did not identify significant side effects across a wide range of dosages, including acute and chronic dose regimens, using various modes of administration.” More research is still needed, however, so please check with your doctor before beginning your CBD regimen and especially if you are on prescription medications.
Third party testing
An important step to take before choosing a CBD supplement is to make sure the product manufacturer provides a Certificate of Analysis. This will ensure your oil is not contaminated with heavy metals or pesticides. It is also important to use a CBD supplement that is third-party tested and grown and bottled in the USA.
How to use CBD for anxiety
Start with 10 drops once or twice a day under the tongue. Hold for 60 seconds then swallow. You may also dilute the CBD oil in an ounce or two of juice and drink normally. If you are new to CBD, start slowly and increase dosing as needed.
