Digestive enzyme FAQ

Vegetarian enzymes like Ultra-Enzyme Support® are very safe and there is no upper dosing limit.

What if I take more enzymes than I need to digest a meal?

Digestive enzymes that are surplus can be stored by the body for later use or they can be used by the body as systemic enzymes (particularly those that digest protein, known as “proteolytic enzymes”).

What do “proteolytic enzymes” do?

These protein digesting enzymes have the amazing ability to target proteins in the blood stream, break them down, and convert them into usable amino acids. This process helps reduce inflammation and prevent allergic reactions to organic proteins that all of us are exposed to in our environment. Organic proteins may include: dust mite feces, grass pollen, tree pollen, dander, mold, and/or partially digested food that leaks through the gut wall (also known as leaky gut syndrome). Poor digestion can be the source of many food intolerances.

The moral of the story:

Whatever digests can be use by the body. Whatever does not digest can cause health issues and require the body to use up valuable resources to eliminate them.
