The first step to making a probiotic-rich parfait is selecting a good quality yogurt.<\/p>\n<h3>How to shop for a probiotic-rich yogurt<\/h3>\n<p>Many yogurts at your local grocery store do not contain any live probiotics and can be packed with sugar! When shopping for a yogurt first check the label to make sure there is no added sugar and no chemical &#8220;zero calorie&#8221; sweeteners. Second, check the label to make sure the yogurt contains \u201clive active cultures\u201d (aka live probiotics). If you have trouble digesting dairy products opt for a dairy-free yogurt. You can find delicious coconut or almond milk yogurts at specialty grocery stores like Wholefoods, Mother&#8217;s Market, or Sprouts.<\/p>\n<h3>Choose your ingregients<\/h3>\n<p>Next on your shopping list you&#8217;ll need a few toppings for your parfait. Some excellent parfait ingredients are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Berries or any combination of your favorite fruits<\/li>\n<li>Granola (no sugar added)<\/li>\n<li>Chia seeds<\/li>\n<li>Nuts<\/li>\n<li>Honey or maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>Cacao nibs<\/li>\n<li>Coconut flakes<\/li>\n<li>Dark chocolate chips<\/li>\n<li>Mint leaves (for garnish)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Probiotic\u00a0yogurt parfait recipe<\/h3>\n<p>This recipe is my personal favorite, but feel free to mix and match the toppings to get your preferred flavor combination!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup almond yogurt (plain, unsweetened)<\/li>\n<li>1 <a href=\"http:\/\/nwcnaturals.com\/featured\/pro-biotics-plus-stick-packs.html\">Pro-Biotics Plus\u00ae Stick Pack<\/a><\/li>\n<li>1 cup blueberries<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup granola<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp honey<\/li>\n<li>mint leaves for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n<p>Measure 1 cup of yogurt into a bowl, and gently mix in one entire Pro-Biotics Plus\u00ae Stick Pack.
