Natural remedies for an itchy scalp

The cold winter season can be so drying to our skin and hair. If your hair seems more dry that usual this winter, you may want to read this. But what if your scalp is flaky or itchy? Today we share our top tips for improving scalp health.

Take a daily probiotic

If your skin is flaky or itchy due to candida, a daily probiotic is an absolute must! Probiotics reduce the amount of bad bacteria or “yeast” in your body that caould be causing that pesky infection. Take 1 Pro-Biotics Plus® Stick Pack every day. Your scalp will thank you!

Condition

This may seem like a no-brainer, but so many people forget this crucial step- especially men! After washing your hair with a sulfate free shampoo, massage conditioner into the scalp and run through to the ends. Many conditioners will leave the scalp oily so be sure to pick a lightweight conditioner that was made to repair and revitalize the scalp. Try Bioken 8 oz. Revitalizing Nourishing Conditioner perfect for all hair types.

Rinse with an anti-fungal

Before you get scared away by the word “fungal” read this: fungal infections on the scalp can lead to hair loss. We recommend mixing 30 drops of Oxy-pH Boost™ Sodium Chlorite Solution per 1 oz water and clean the affected area 3 times daily with gauze. Or if your whole head is affected, mix 30 drops of Oxy-pH Boost™ into a large container of water and rise immediately after conditioning.
